1966 Bergmann Automatenbilder

Background

The 1966 Bergmann Automatenbilder are set are considered to be one of the most iconic set of "cards" for the Golden Generation of German football. These cards were never meant to be stuck into albums and instead were meant to be collected like baseball cards of the era were. The cards have a very clean front, which usually features a portrait shot, and the back is minimalistic featuring only the player name and their respective club.

The cards were distributed from vending machines and there is no album associated with the cards.

The cards were not numbered but thanks to Alan Jenkins' website there is a checklist of the entire cards that make up the entire set.
