Cesar Cueto

Cesar Cueto is easily one of the greatest Peruvian footballers to grace the football field. Cesar Cueto was a player of immense vision and passing. He was formed in the Alianza Lima academy and made his debut for Alianza Lima at the age of 17 in 1969.

He would go on to spend most of his career at Alianza Lima, Atletico Nacional, and America de Cali. Cueto would also become a leader and central figure of the national team. In the 1978 World Cup, Peru would comfortably top their group in the first round ahead of Scotland, Iran, and the Netherlands. In the first round, Cueto was named as the best player in the tournament. Cueto was also an important part of the 1975 Copa America winning squad.
